The way we prepare fresh vegetables may differ, and it should differ, in
order to maintain the element of surprise during the lunch hour. ‘Gatte ki
sabzi’ is a traditional Rajasthani dish, but we’ll take a look at it from a
Pakistani perspective today. Gram flour (Besan) serves as the foundation for
this dish’s preparation. This gram flour recipe will transform your
mealtimes, leaving those at the table with nothing to do but lick their
fingers.</span >
The term ‘Gatte’ refers to cooked gram flour pieces dumped in a thick
spicy curd mixture, which results in an unbelievably tasty recipe. Because
it’s in curry form, you can eat it with naan and roti and a salad. Plain rice
is also an acceptable side dish. Buy besan and other ingredients from an
online or traditional grocery store that sells high-quality grocery products.
With its high protein content and gluten-free nature, gram flour has numerous
advantages. Chickpea flour nutrition also includes dietary fiber, which helps
to maintain a healthy gut and alleviate constipation.

How Do You Make Chickpea Flour Puffs?
1)
In a large mixing bowl, combine 34 gram flour, a quarter teaspoon red chili
powder, cumin seeds, garam masala powder, 1 teaspoon olive oil, and salt.
2)
Gradually add water to the mixture and work with your hands until the dough
forms a ball (as we do for parathas).
3) Once the dough has been
prepared, divide it into 8 to 10 equal portions. Each one should be 1/2 inch
thick and 5 inches long.
4) Bring at least 3 cups of water to a boil over
medium heat. Place the thin rolls in the container and cook for 8 to 10
minutes before removing from the heat.
5) Place the cylindrical gram
flour pieces on a plate and set aside to cool for a few minutes.
6) Once the rolls have reached room temperature, cut them into 12 inch pieces
and your dumplings are ready.
How Do You Make Gravy?
1)
Heat 1 tablespoon ghee or oil in a nonstick skillet over medium heat for 2
minutes, then add the dumplings. Place the fried pieces on a separate
plate.
2) Another tablespoon of oil should be added to the pan. When the
mustard seeds begin to pop, add a quarter teaspoon of zeera, asafoetida,
ginger, and green chili. Allow the mixture to heat for 30 to 40 seconds before
adding the onion slices.
3) Stir in the coriander powder, red chili
powder, and garam masala powder for less than a minute. Pour in the curd and
stir for 2 to 3 minutes. When oil appears on the surface, it is a sign to
proceed.
4) To the solution, add 1 cup of water and 12 teaspoons of rock
salt (natural salt). Wait for it to begin to boil after thoroughly mixing
it.
5) Reduce the heat to low and add the slightly fried gram flour
pieces to the mixture.
6) Cook until the mixture thickens. It will take
almost 7 minutes to get there. Continue to stir so that the solution does not
settle to the bottom. If you don’t want it thick, add a cup of water and cook
for 4 minutes more.
7) After sprinkling with fresh coriander leaves,
serve the recipe to the group of visitors or your own family.
There
are numerous cuisines in Pakistan, and the majority of them have access to
commonly available grocery items. Unfortunately, the grocery section and the
fruits and vegetables online market are saturated with adulterated stock,
posing a serious threat to Pakistanis’ health. We must act now to address the
issue of food adulteration before it is too late.
